Due to unforeseen circumstances, I will now be creating a music video (for the same song) individually. I aim to create a video that focuses entirely on one character, it will be only narrative based with no performance footage of the band.
I want to create a video that tells a story, emersing the audience in the life of one person - much like the song itself. My idea is to split the video in two; one half (first verse) consists of a 'home movie' feel, in which the audience is cast as almost a second character whom Justin (from the song) silently converses and interacts with. In the second half (second verse) the audience is put in a voyeuristic role, we can only sit back and watch as Justin falls apart, spying on him as he slips into self destruction. Although this will be like a story, it won't quite be set out like one, I want the video to seem choppy and a bit rough around the edges - mirroring Justin's character as his life turns into a mess.
